Terms of use

By using Maalik you agree to these terms.

1. What Maalik is

Maalik is an online notice board where owners and dealers list property for sale in Pakistan, and buyers can contact them. Maalik is not a property dealer, broker, lawyer or bank. We do not own the properties listed, we do not take part in any sale, and we do not handle any payments.

2. Check everything yourself

Listings are written by sellers. We review listings before they appear, but we cannot promise that every detail is true. Before you pay anything:

• See the property in person.
• Check the registry, the fard and the seller's ID with the relevant land record office or a lawyer.
• Never pay in advance to someone you have not met.
• Keep written receipts and use traceable payments for any money you hand over.

3. The Verified badge

A Verified badge means that, when we reviewed the listing, we looked at certain documents the seller showed us. It does not prove ownership, a clear title, or that a deal is safe. It does not replace your own checks.

4. If you post a listing

You confirm that you own the property or have the owner's permission to sell it, that the details, price and photos are true and yours to share, and that the phone number is yours. Mark the listing as sold or remove it when it is no longer available. Do not post fake, misleading or duplicate listings, or photos you do not have the right to use.

5. Reports and removal

Anyone can report a listing. We may hide or remove any listing, or block an account, at any time, including if we think it is fake, misleading or breaks these terms.

6. Responsibility

Maalik is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from deals made with people you meet through Maalik, for wrong information in listings, or if the service is not working. Nothing here limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited.

7. Changes

We may change these terms. If the change is big, we will show a notice on the site. If you keep using Maalik after a change, you accept it.

Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your email address, to send you a sign-in link.
• Your mobile number, and a WhatsApp number if you add one, when you post a listing.
• The listing details and photos you upload.
• Reports you send about a listing (a reason and an optional note). You do not need to log in to send one.
• Small files on your device that keep you logged in and make the installed app load faster.

What other people can see

When a listing is approved, anyone can see its title, details, photos and the seller's phone number (and WhatsApp number if given). Your email address is not shown to the public and is visible only to the Maalik team. Reports are visible only to the Maalik team. Because phone numbers are public, you may get calls or messages from strangers, so only share a number you are happy to make public.

Why we use your data

To run Maalik: to log you in, show listings, let buyers contact sellers, check for fake listings and keep the service safe. We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers.

Who helps us run Maalik

We use trusted services: Supabase (database and photo storage, on servers outside Pakistan, currently in Europe), Netlify (website hosting) and Google email (to send sign-in links). They handle data only to provide these services.

How long we keep it

We keep listings and account data while they are active. You can delete your listings yourself in My listings. To have your account and personal data removed, contact us.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your listings at any time. You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.

Age

Maalik is for people aged 18 and over.
